Congratulations to Dundalk Lions Club Radio Team on their award from Community Radio Ieland for their weekly programme on Dundalk FM. The programme is broadcast every Thursday from 8 to 9 pm (repeated on Sundays at 7 pm) and features interviews, local news and music.
Details of this year’s Frostival Winter Festival, which kicks off with the Carnival of Light parade on Friday November 22, have been announced this week. Town Centre Commercial Manager, Martin Mc Elligott explained: ‘It’s the second year of the Carnival of Light parade and we are really excited about the 2019 line-up in the Frostival programme. It will take place on the Friday evening and will be a kaleidoscope of colourful Christmas magic, weaving its way through the streets and illuminating the town centre as we go.’

Drogheda will be seeking to follow in Dundalk’s footsteps with the establishment of a Business Improvement District Scheme (BIDS).
It became the first town in Ireland to adopt BIDS in 2009 and has been hailed as a great success, opening many doors in the business and tourism sector as a result over the last decade.
The scheme is common in the United States & United Kingdom where the ratepayers of a designated geographical area contribute an agreed additional percentage of their rates to be ring fenced for particular actions and projects in their area.
