Tidy Towns Winners

Congratulations to all the Tidy Towns Groups in Louth who recieved an increase in marks once again this year and to Medal Winners Tallanstown (Gold), Blackrock (Gold), Dundalk (Gold), Drogheda (Gold), Ardee (Silver) and Knockbridge (Bronze).

Congratulations also to the Special Category Awards Winners – Stabannon for the Gum Litter Taskforce Award, Dunleer for the Tree Project Award, Carlingford for the Waste Prevention Award and Blackrock who were runners up in the Sustainable Development Award.

NEW FREE SPECIALISED TEENAGE SERVICE

Rape Crisis North East are now providing a FREE specialised professional counselling service for teenagers who have experienced any form of sexual violence in their lives.

The service will be run by Michelle Daly a highly trained and experienced Psychotherapist with expertise in the field of sexual violence and working with adolescents. If you have any queries or would like further information please contact us on 042 9339491, 1800212122 or info@rcne.ie.

Dundalk: 30th out of 40 towns / cities surveyed. Clean to European Norms.

Dundalk retains its clean status, with no heavily littered sites.

 

Very good sites in Dundalk included the County Museum, Dundalk Grammar School and Oriel Park Football Stadium – all were well presented and maintained.  It was noted that Castleblaney Approach Road was better than previous surveys but it is still some way off the top litter grade.  Dundalk Institute of Technology was let down by the cigarette butts at the entrance – this took away from an otherwise very freshly presented campus.

 

 

Dundalk Grammar School:  Grade A.  The high grade in previous surveys has been sustained at Dundalk Grammar School.

Rape Crisis North East is inviting you to come along to their Car Boot Sale on Sunday 13th of August, 2017 in McEvoy’s Car Park, Bachelor’s Walk entrance, Dundalk.

Admission for buyers is €2.00 per person, free entry for children attending with parents.  Organised by Rape Crisis North East, the event takes place from 10:00am to 4:00pm and sellers with their cars can set-up from 8:30am at a fee of €10.00 per car and €15.00 per van.

This is a great opportunity to sell on some of your used equipment and bits and pieces and perhaps purchase some other much needed items.

Sinead McNally is the winner of the Fresh Supermac’s Jingle Competition

Sinead McNally from Dundalk has been announced as the winner of the Fresh Supermac’s Jingle Competition. She was selected from a shortlist of 9 entries have made the shortlist from over 500 entries. Sinead will get a one-thousand-euro cash prize plus a professional recording session at Windmill Lane.

Dundalk Lions Club table quiz 19th May

Dundalk Lions Club are holding their annual table quiz in Kennedys Bar on Friday the 19th of May at 9 pm.  The cost is 20 euro for a table of four.

All are welcome to attend and this is always an enjoyable night.

The proceeds go towards the Senior Citizens weekend away which is organised by the Lions Club in September.
