Leprechaun Hunt – Carlingford – Sunday March 30th.

In 1989, the suit and bones of a leprechaun were found on The Slieve Foy Mountain by the late local business man, P. J. O Hare. He discovered them after hearing a loud cry coming from the mountain and, when he went to investigate, he was shocked to find the suit of a leprechaun, along with 4 gold coin and some bones within an area of scorched earth.

Women in Business in Co. Louth – Library – 13th March

DUNDALK Library will host a seminar on ‘Women in Business in Co. Louth’ on Thursday, March 13 at 6.30pm to celebrate International Women’s Day. St Brigid’s set to host annual half marathon – 1st March.

THE Annual Carlingford Half Marathon/10K in aid of St. Brigid’s School will take place on March 1st, in the picturesque village of Carlingford and the surrounding Cooley Peninsula.

Olympic cycling track for Dundalk

The 250m Olympic track would be the first of its kind in the country and could be ready for use in September.

With top track cyclists, including current world champion Martyn Irvine, forced to train abroad for large chunks of the year, the Dundalk velodrome will be a huge boost to the sport both locally and nationally.
