CAR BOOT SALE IN AID OF Rape Crisis North East – 9th July

 

Rape Crisis North East is inviting you to come along to their Car Boot Sale on Sunday 9th July, 2017 in McEvoy’s Car Park, Bachelor’s Walk entrance, Dundalk.

Admission for buyers is €2.00 per person, free entry for children attending with parents.  Organised by Rape Crisis North East, the event takes place from 10:00am to 4:00pm and sellers with their cars can set-up from 8:30am at a fee of €10.00 per car and €15.00 per van.

This is a great opportunity to sell on some of your used equipment and bits and pieces and perhaps purchase some other much needed items.

The annual Inniskeen Road July Evening Festival takes place next month on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th July in Inniskeen.

This year sees the 50th Commemoration of the death of Patrick Kavanagh

A celebration of the works of the poet and writer, the festival focuses on these works which are rooted in his native Inniskeen landscape.

Working on the family farm in 1930’s/1940’s Inniskeen, witnessing daily the miracle of creation, Kavanagh began to write of his experiences and became the ‘authentic voice of the Irish country poor.

World premiere of Student Documentary at DkIT – 8th June

World premiere of Student Documentary at DkIT

A television documentary, The Road to Speyfest, an entertaining music documentary made by students on the BA (Hons) Film and Television Production and featuring performances by students from the DkIT Ceol Oirghialla Traditional Music Ensemble will be premiered in the Carroll Building at Dundalk Institute of Technology at 7pm on 8 June 2017.

Rape Crisis North East Flag Day – 11th May

Rape Crisis North East will be holding their annual Flag Day on Thursday the 11th of May 2017. We will be in various locations around Dundalk, and we are seeking your help in raising awareness and much needed funding for our counselling & support services.

Darkness into Light is taking place in Dundalk next Saturday May 6th, starting at 3am.

SOSAD are in need of volunteer stewards to man the route.

You will be picked up at DkIT at 3am and brought back around 5.30am.

Volunteers needed as Cycle Against Suicide visits Dundalk – 23rd April

Over 800 people die by suicide on the island of Ireland each year. That is 800 families and communities devastated; 800 lives cut short. Cycle Against Suicide aims to affect change by beginning a conversation about mental health; spreading the message that ‘It’s OK not to feel OK; and it’s absolutely OK to ask for help’ into schools, businesses and communities throughout the island of Ireland.
