Dance Kids proudly present ‘The Greatest Snowman’ – 29th and 30th December

The Dance Kids are back once more with their Christmas show ‘The Greatest Snowman’ which takes place on the 29th and 30th of December in An Tàin Arts Centre.

‘The Greatest Snowman’ is jam packed full of all your Christmas favourites as well as an excerpt from the ‘The Greatest Showman. The talented dancers will also be performing to many favourites from the hit musical ‘Wicked’, as well as songs from ‘Cinderella’ and ‘Tina Turner’ to name just a few that are guaranteed to have audiences of every age dancing and singing along in their seats.

Ladywell Shrine – 15th August

The annual devotions at Ladywell Shrine in Dundalk for the Rising of the Waters will take place on August 14th.

The devotions mass will begin at 11:15pm, starting with the Rosary. This will be followed by mass with the Blessings of the Water at midnight.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own bottles to be filled with holy water from the shrine, which can be blessed during the next day.

These personal devotions take place all day on the 15th of August.

Dundalk Lions Club Annual Golf Classic – Ballymac on Friday 13th July.

The Dundalk Lions Club Annual Golf Classic takes place on Friday 13th of July at Ballymascanlon Golf Course. Its a four person scamble with a shotgun start at 1 pm.

€50 per person gets you a round of golf and an evening meal in the hotel with entertainment. Sponsorship of a Tee Box or a Green is available for €25.

Also numerous prizes including Longest Drive and Nearest the Pin.

Tony Golden Cycle – closes July 9th

Registration for the LH286 Garda Tony Golden Memorial Cycle closes on Monday July 9th. This year’s event will be raising funds for Aoibheann’s Pink Tie and takes place on Saturday September 22nd with different routes to cater for all cyclists. This is the third year the cycle has been organised by friends and colleagues of the Garda who was shot in Omeath. The cycle will conclude with a meal in Blackrock Community Centre while there will be ‘ceol agus craic’ afterwards in The Clermont Arms

An Táin Arts Centre is the place to be on Friday the 22nd and Saturday the 23rd of June when the Dance Kids unveil their latest show ‘Rock and Shine’.

Blackrock Raft Race – 17th June 2018

The annual Blackrock Tidy Towns Raft Race takes place in June each year with about 30 rafts taking to the water. The event is FREE to attend but there is an entry fee for any team wishing to take the plunge but all funds go to Blackrock Tidy Towns.

The race is open to businesses, organisations, residents associations and even individuals, whether you’re from Blackrock, Dundalk, anywhere in County Louth, or indeed anywhere nationally or internationally! Darkness into Light – Saturday 12th May – 4.15 am – DKIT

A record breaking number of walkers and runners is anticipated at this year’s Darkness into Light event which takes place at DkIT on Saturday morning.

There has been a huge amount of interest in the Dundalk event which is one of many taking place around the country to raise funds for Pieta House.

The walk starts at 4.15am on Saturday and the organisers advise people to arrive early to give themselves time to part and make their way to the starting point.
