The 2 day 220 mile challenge between Belfast and Dublin remains a firm favourite with sporting enthusiasts and those looking to improve their fitness levels and take on a personal challenge in support of Co-operation Ireland and a host of other great causes. The bike ride follows a route through the counties of Antrim, Down, Louth, Meath and Fingal with a number of rest stops on the way where cyclists can stop off and refuel.
Shorter distances from Belfast to Newry, Newry to Dublin, Dublin to Newry or Newry to Belfast or a one way only Belfast to Dublin or Dublin to Belfast are also available.
The start and finish site in Belfast is at the Queen’s University sporting facility on the upper Malone Road and for those wanting to stay overnight in Belfast before or after the event some great rates are available at Jury’s Inn located in the centre of the city. There is also a special package to include one way coach fare from Dublin on Friday 27 June, transport for bikes, overnight hotel accommodation and the one day entry fee, to encourage cyclists from the Republic of Ireland to take part. Cycle Clubs can benefit from a group discount and the Company Challenge gives cyclists an opportunity to get together with some friends and colleagues from the same company, making Maracycle a great team building exercise.
The highlight of the weekend will see cyclists from most counties in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland join with our overseas visitors at Dublin City University on the Saturday night for a celebration of their achievements.
For further details or copies of the entry forms or posters please contact Co-operation Ireland.
