A record breaking number of walkers and runners is anticipated at this year’s Darkness into Light event which takes place at DkIT on Saturday morning.
There has been a huge amount of interest in the Dundalk event which is one of many taking place around the country to raise funds for Pieta House.
The walk starts at 4.15am on Saturday and the organisers advise people to arrive early to give themselves time to part and make their way to the starting point.
Adults, children and even dogs on a lead can take part, and walkers are advised to bring a torch and to wear warm clothing as it will still be cold.
All funds raised go to Pieta House for their work in combating suicide and helping raise awareness around mental health issues, particularly among young people.
