Dundalk Chamber of Commerce and Louth Land of Legends are delighted to present these Free historical and traditional during our Louth Land of Legends Gathering weekend.
We will have an evening when traditional musicians from Louth and surrounding areas will entertain guests in a truly historical setting in Dundalk Gaol, Oriel Centre, Carrick Rd. Dundalk. A Traditional Music Seisuin will start at 8.00pm on Friday the 25th 24th May with plenty of ceol agus craic. There will be a bar available on the night and light refreshments will be served.
The Patrick Kavanagh Rural & Literacy Resource Centre, Inniskeen a talk will take place on Kerr’s Ass, ‘an exile that night in Mucker’. Migration and emigration in the wider Patrick Kavanagh family. An afternoon of prose and verse for The Gathering with Guest speaker Art Agnew on Saturday the 25th May at 3pm until 4pm.
An Historical re-enactment will take place in the old courtroom in Ardee Castle, Main St. Ardee County Louth. The re-enactment will show the trial of 3 men who kick-started the episode of the burning of the wild goose lodge. This unique event will take place at 7.00pm on Saturday the 25th May.
