DUNDALK and the north east continues the fight against cancer with the sixth annual ‘Relay for Life’ kicking off this Sunday.
The 24 hour event being held at Dundalk Race course stadium begins at 3pm on Sunday 26th and runs right through to 3pm on Monday 27th October.
The first to introduce Relay for Life to Ireland, Dundalk, in association with the Irish Cancer society, raised an amazing €104K in 2010.
Over the last six years it has helped in raising over €350,000.
‘Dundalk 2014 is already set to be bigger and better than the last five years, with a large number of teams signed up and running a range of fund raising events to help raise money for Irish Cancer Society,’ said Larry Torres from the organising committee.
Relay For Life events involve a 24-hour walking relay for which funds are raised in support of the fight against cancer.
The events also take place worldwide giving communities a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember lost loved ones, and fight back against the disease.
Organisers have invited all local people to meet and join in at new venue in the Dundalk Race Course Stadium for this year’s event 3pm Sunday 26th – 3pm Monday 27th October 2014.
Why not be a part of the event, help fundraise, put in a team, sponsor, or perform? All help needed to make this major fundraising event another success.
