Walk and Talk event – 25th August @ 5 pm

[ A+ ] /[ A- ]

THE Old Dundalk Society’s summer Town Walk and Talk event takes place on Tuesday August 25 starting at 5pm. Assemble in the car park at the back of the old Harp Lager brewery, opposite the Friary School.

As a novel part of the event this year, the walk will feature a different speaker presenting at each site and will concentrate on the ‘west side’ of the town and sites include Dundalk Railway station where the speaker will be Brendan McQuaid.

The old Great Northern brewery is next where the speaker will be Davy McArdle.

Walkers will also visit the County Archives with speaker Lorraine McCann; Dundalk Gaol with speaker Pat O’Donoghue; the Old Louth Hospital with Michael Gaynor and a visit to Oriel Centre with tea/coffee completes the walk.

This event is the Old Dundalk Society’s contribution to National Heritage Week.

A voluntary contribution towards the cost of the event will be made on the night and everybody is welcome to attend and share their own stories of the sites with the group.
