Frostival Winter Festival

Experience the magic of Christmas at Frostival Winter Festival on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th of November marking the start of the festive season in Dundalk Town Centre.

The theme of this year’s festival is ‘Carnival of Light’ and promises to be an awe-inspiring celebration of arts, culture and Christmas fun featuring beautifully lit floats, stilt and fire performers, an aerialist, dancers in breath-taking costumes and much much more.

We will also be hosting a Christmas Market, Family Fun Zone, Santa’s Grotto, Frostival Express Train and a Family Treasure Hunt at Market Square.

Christmas Panto – 8th to 13th Jan 2019

It’s that time of year again. Oh yes it is! Dundalk Musical Society returns to An Tain from the 8th to the 13th January 2019 with their Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Pantomime.

Evening shows will be on from 7:30pm nightly plus 2:30pm matinées on Saturday and Sunday.

Featuring a stellar local cast and a super talented chorus of over 100 local children and young adults, this panto has all the ingredients of a great night out with music, dancing, laughter and of course good triumphing over evil.

I remember what it was like. Being like everyone else. Whole. Complete. Unshattered, unbroken. Normal. But things change. Now I’m falling between the cracks in myself, and I don’t know how to crawl back out…

A powerful piece of devised theatre from An Táin Arts Centre’s company-in-residence exploring the issue of mental illness in Ireland. Cracks premiered in October 2016 and is back for a fourth run due to popular demand.

Sinatra: The Man and the Music – 27th & 28th March @ 8 pm.

When the greatest artists of the 20th century were named, Frank Sinatra was labelled ‘The Voice of the Century’. In this performance, Stephen Burns relates his life from humble beginnings in New Jersey, through Academy Award films, to Las Vegas stardom, where Stephen recounts his meeting with Princess Grace in Monaco and their mutual admiration for Sinatra.

The 10 Dark Secrets of the Irish Revolution – Friday 30th March @ 8pm

Paddy Cullivan of Callan’s Kicks and The Late Late Show brings you an audiovisual spectacular on the Centenary of the Irish Revolution. This highly engrossing show combines satire and song with striking images and stark historical insight which will leave you shocked at how little you really knew about the foundation of our country.

VocaJazz – Ardú Vocal Ensemble

Fresh from their success at the Irish International A Cappella Festival, Ardú return home to An Táin Theatre and Arts Centre, Dundalk for an evening of jazz!

Accompanied by a Jazz trio of piano, double bass and drums, the solo voices of Ardú combine to create a unique re-styling of all your favourite jazz classics. The programme will include Mack The Knife (Kurt Weill), My Baby Just Cares For Me (Nina Simone), Perdido (Juan Tizol), Libertango (Pizzolla), and Mr Bojangles (Jeff Walker) to name but a few!

America Nova – An Evening of A Cappella Music inspired by American Culture

Ireland’s premier contemporary a cappella ensemble and An Táin Arts Centre’s vocal ensemble in residence bring their America Nova programme to Dundalk. Featuring music that has been influenced by, or has directly influenced, American culture over the past century.

This beautiful concert features the debut solo performance of the Ardú Apprentices – seven of the most talented ensemble students from Dundalk Institute of Technology – who have been working with Ardú throughout the year.
